Enclosure A1

Enclosure A1 is a gadget that can be applied to Drawer A1 and Drawer A1 Lower Edition.

DRAWERS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS MODEL AND MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY.


You will be able to manage the 4 spools of the AMS Lite, plus an additional 2 external spools if needed.

An internal tubing system allows the PolyDryer to heat and remove moisture from the filaments.

If necessary, you can also heat the print chamber to assist with printing exotic materials.

THE SAME CONFIGURATION APPLIES TO TWO DIFFERENT DRAWERS.

I tried to minimize the model’s dimensions as much as possible. Unfortunately, not as much as I would have liked, considering we are dealing with a bed slinger printer.4o

I have fully integrated the AMS Lite on the top of the enclosure, while the PolyDryer has been positioned at the back.

The entire structure is printable with your Bambu A1, except for the glass panels for the openings and the front doors.

The enclosure will rest on the drawer you have chosen and will be anchored to it with hooks at the top. Additionally, a gasket is included to seal the print chamber.

For this reason, I have reinforced the structure with transverse supports on the upper part and the front to increase rigidity.

It will remain easily removable whenever you need to detach it.

The main connections to the AMS motors and its board do not require any extensions or modifications. Only the NFC readers will need to be extended due to their new positioning, which is much farther compared to the standard AMS configuration.

The internal structure has been designed to save filament without compromising robustness.

Every part of the space has been structured to allow easy removal of the printer by simply disconnecting the power cables, the AMS Lite cables, and the PTFE tubes.

There are two air ducts, distinguished by two colors: red for the hot air supply and blue for the intake.

Each side has both an inlet and an outlet that connect the two spool cases to the PolyDryer.

Additionally, there are two internal doors within the print chamber that can be opened to regulate the chamber's climate as desired.

I have also included space for two temperature/humidity sensors, one for each spool case.

"I initially planned to create ventilation holes with fans and activated carbon filters. However, given the wide variety of available products, I decided not to implement my solution by default.

That said, upon request, I can design and provide the necessary openings and adapters tailored to your hardware. These custom options will also be made available to everyone for free."

On each side of the enclosure, you will find two retractable spool holders.

These allow you to quickly add a new filament or print with filaments not managed by the AMS Lite.

On the top, on both sides, you can also attach a holder for the PTFE tube, which will help you manage the external spool.

"Okay, it looks nice, but doesn't Bambu recommend against enclosing the printer in an enclosure?"

Printer Motherboard Ventilation

The enclosure includes dedicated ventilation for the printer's motherboard to ensure proper cooling and prevent overheating during extended print sessions.

You will have two air intakes, one on each side of the printer, aligned with the printer’s ventilation openings.

As I mentioned earlier, the enclosure includes two airtight side boxes designed for filament storage and drying.

As you can see, the top section features an air intake, while the bottom section provides hot air injection.

Dedicated mounts have also been created for the NFC readers, following the same specifications as those on the AMS Lite Standard.

For spool support, you will simply reuse the same block from the AMS, but you will need to precisely cut the aluminum tube in half.

Additionally, I have designed a new spool holder for filaments that normally cannot be mounted on these supports.
